DBT Informed Therapy

Build skills to better understand and manage your emotions

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)-informed treatment focuses on helping individuals build practical skills to better understand and manage their emotions. This approach is especially helpful for those who feel overwhelmed, reactive, stuck in patterns that are difficult to change., or have difficulty navigating interpersonal relationships

Is DBT right for you?

This approach may be a good fit if you:

  • Feel overwhelmed by your emotions
  • Struggle with impulsivity or emotional reactivity
  • Experience frequent conflict in relationships
  • Have difficulty managing stress
  • Want practical tools you can apply in your daily life

How can DBT help me?

In DBT-informed therapy, you’ll develop skills to:

  • Regulate intense emotions
  • Tolerate distress without reacting impulsively
  • Improve communication and relationships
  • Stay present and grounded
  • Manage stress more effectively
  • manage ineffective or harmful behaviors

What to expect in sessions

Sessions are collaborative and skills-focused. Your therapist will help you understand your emotional patterns while teaching practical tools you can apply in your daily life. You’ll have opportunities to practice these skills both in and outside of sessions to build confidence and consistency over time.

DBT-informed therapy can also be helpful for individuals looking to develop safer, more effective ways of coping during difficult moments.
